FREELANCER vs AGENCY

A growing number of clients prefer using a freelance graphic designer to using a design agency. The biggest benefit being that the work delivered by a skilled freelance designer can be exactly the same as you’d get from an agency but at a fraction of the price – because a freelancer has less overheads. You also get to work much more closely with your designer, instead of trying to convey everything through an account manager.

EXPERIENCE

I graduated from the University of Wales with a 2:1 in Graphic Design. Upon graduating I immediately got offered a job at Hereford and Worcester County Council and then Herefordshire Council in 1998. Over the years I have worked on many projects which have raised awareness locally of key and important issues.

I have been working as a freelance designer for over 10 years in the evenings and weekends, working with clients to improve their communication materials and on developing a diverse portfolio. 

MY APPROACH

Each project I work on is an opportunity to do some amazing work that connects with the intended audience and brings increased success to the client.

Every mark has to have a purpose. Each individual element of your design should be necessary, not indulgent.

I always follow a strategic approach; identify your brand’s strengths and weaknesses, get to know your company culture, research your audience, your competition, and the current market.
